Ardhangini is story inspired by classic “Ghare-Baire” written in the year 1914 by Shree Rabindranath Tagore. A story bout the journey of woman, Bimla, from her dream-world into the unkind reality…. Nikhilesh… her loving husband nd the most understanding man being misinterpreted by his own people because of his “Non Protestant” behavior. Sandeep… victim of fate who is silent rebel yet the main cause of destruction. The story plays round these three main characters. The protagonist, Nikhilesh, wealthy western-educated landowner, complete gentleman who is loved by ll for his loving, caring nd understanding nature. He cared less for himself nd more for the people round him especially his wife Bimla nd childhood friend Sandeep. Nikhilesh was madly in love with his wife Bimla, nd the unconditional love made him stand out mong the other men of that era. When prostitution nd lcoholism was dominant he chose to do the opposite. He challenged tradition by providing Bimla with schooling nd convincing her to move out of the seclusion in which married women were kept, going gainst the wishes of his own family. Sandeep, Nikhilesh’s best-friend, now turned freedom-fighter, comes back to the village years later nd convinces Bimla to join him in his rebellion gainst the British. She gets convinced nd hence takes up his political cause. As the story progresses, the relationship between Bimla nd Sandeep gets stronger nd soon they cross the line of friendship. This is the beginning of storm in tea cup. I believe “The good creates moral, nd The bad creates the story.” The best example is “Ramayana” We mostly judge people by the ct but the verdict is not lways correct. My movie Ardhangini portrays the changing shades of human nature nd…... Rest remains mystery till the movie is watched.
